OSC on BSI IST/41
The Open Source Consortium is to become a member of the BSI IST/41 committee.
Details of IST/41 are described here.
It works on the UK's submission to the ISO on DIS 29500 (Office Open XML, or OOXML).
Gerry Gavigan joined the meeting of the
British Standards Institute's technical committee
IST/41 on 2nd July 2009 as an
observer, on behalf of the Open Source Consortium.
He provided information
to IST/41 members about the interest of the Open Source Consortium in being
represented on the committee, and contributed to the
discussions.
The committee chairman received no objections to
the OSC's application for membership and will enable the
Open Source Consortium to become a member of IST/41.
